Your Unseen Goldilocks Moment

Why the Next Five Years Will Be Your Best

Over the past few months, I’ve had a significant amount of conversations with industry peers in career transitions and there’s an obvious sentiment: change is happening fast, and many are unsure how to adapt in the shifting entertainment marketing world - and what their future career in it will be.

Yet, as I reflected on this conversations and my own professional journey over the past 30 years, an insight hit. Well - more of a fable.

In the early days, things were expansive—akin to that too-big bed. We were learning, experimenting, and seeking our niche. Often, we missed opportunities simply because we hadn't yet mastered the intricacies of the industry or the foundational principles of brand-building. Despite that, our unbridled creativity and fresh approaches drove the industry forward.

As we matured in our careers, a sense of constriction settled in. Like the too-small bed, our creative desires sometimes felt at odds with our roles. We knew more, saw more, and wanted to break through the limitations and push the boundaries. Along the way, we celebrated victories, faced setbacks, and yes, overstepped on more than one occasion. Yet, it was this spirit of relentless experimentation that gave birth to new brands, platforms, and technologies.

But here's the insight: Our past endeavors, even the ones that felt misaligned, have seamlessly converged to shape today's moment. We're currently positioned at a pivotal juncture where our collective experience is precisely what the industry needs. With today's changes happening at an almost unparalleled speed, we find ourselves primed to steer the industry confidently into its next era. It's our "just right" moment.

We're not simply bystanders; we are the architects of the next chapter. The challenge? Recognizing and harnessing our pivotal role in today's narrative. This isn't a time to reminisce about the past or get lost in future uncertainties. It's a call to action, recognizing the depth of understanding we bring, our honed adaptability, and our now uniquely informed perspectives.

If you're wondering about YOUR part in this unfolding story, remember: you're living your Goldilocks moment. Step into it. And if you ever need clarity or guidance, know that I'm here to help.
